Madrid’s former railway station Estación del Norte came back to life after 27 years thanks to the prodigious refurbishment works that transformed its main hall into a fantastic multi purpose venue. The original building designed by three Eiffel’s disciples – the French engineers Biarez, Grasset y Ouliac, worked from 1861 until 1933 when the last train departed to Galicia. Today is a renovated listed building as a result of a complex project by Eos Arquitectos that paid respect to every single detail of its Art Deco architecture; from the original 9 lamps to the black forged imperial staircase, the elevators and the box offices.

The auditorium not only maintains the original slate roof but it is also an extraordinary versatile venue: from a cabaret to an auditorium or just an empty space. It combines 3 different seating solutions: 280 fixed seats in the VIP Balcony and a combination in the Stalls of 400 folding chairs mounted on a fully automatic telescopic tribune and 275 removable chairs in front organised in sets of 3 and 2 chairs. The model selected for the VIP area was the Perseo Max with aluminium standards and upholstered arms. Meanwhile the Space Plus chair was installed in the ground floor: foldable with electric actuators for the telescopic tribune and removable for the area in front (wheeled system). As part of the flexible configuration of the venue, the double platform tribune is equipped with Kangoo boxes that conceal the chairs inside it once they are folded down. Similarly, removable chairs in front of the tribune are mounted on beams with recessed wheels to be easily stored under the stage.
