The Celler Noucentista de Vila-Seca is a small wine cathedral for many locals: a building declared a Cultural Asset of Local Interest and built between 1919 and 1920 by the architect Pere Domènech i Roura. The patron of the construction of the Celler was the Agricultural Union of Vila-seca, and it was possible thanks to the farmer members who endorsed the project with their own properties.
The refurbishment project by the Espinet/Ubach Arquitectes team focused on the value of the architectural space of the main building that is now occupied by a large multipurpose room, designed and equipped so that it can be adapted to the needs of each show thanks to the retractable tribune and mobile chairs.
The stage, on the other hand, has a large window to the nearby Castell pine forest – a way to integrate this recovered building with the local nature.
For this superb project, Ascénder provided a double-platform tribune electrically controlled by a tablet. Its special programming allows you to select which sequence of rows to open / fold at any time. Thanks to its complete locking system, this 382-seat tribune may be completely open or just in sections depending on the needs of the space: all rows are composed of 25 seats with shared arm and can be folded up & down automatically at the same time with the subsequent time saving.
Another 135 Space Lux Wheeled seats can be found in front of the tribune: beam mounted and freestanding on pedestals with recessed castors. All these are stored on a lifting platform that may work as stage expansion, venue expansion or orchestra pit.
